iptables blocking everything
Something is changing iptables to block everything, when it's on I can't even ping google from the server. This seems to happen with an autoshun from ASL. Is there a misconfiguration with ASL? how can I figure out what should be in the firewall and stop this from happening? If I list out what's curr...

Re: Spectre and meltdown support in asl kernel
I should be specific of what I am faced with. I know how to install a kernel and set it to the default in grub. I have a unique situation here with the cloud hosting provider Digital Ocean. In addition to my wanting the latest kernel for the spectre/meltdown (which I am not sure if the one installed...

Re: Spectre and meltdown support in asl kernel
Thanks for some reason the forum search wouldn't bring up anything. So I gather the answer is yes for the most part :) Couple more questions: 1) How do we check what the latest kernel version available? Does it always match the asl version? 2) I have a few CentOS 6 systems running ASL v5 that don't ...

Re: mod_evasive: Can't locate API module evasive24_module
After some google digging found an answer here, some issue with the package. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1232360 Installed the testing release mod_evasive-1.10.1-22.el7 and good to go now. su -c 'yum update --enablerepo=epel-testing mod_evasive-1.10.1-22.el7' Hopefully ASL will play ...

PHP disable functions not working
Recently I noticed the disabled functions I had in /etc/php.ini had been wiped and I had previously set those manually and setup ASL to ignore them. Now I try to have ASL set those both through the manual config and the asl web gui but nothing is sticking, the file still has disable_functions empty....

Re: Installing ASL kernel
Yeah maybe it is possible but they haven't automated it yet. Sounds like mixed signals so maybe they are doing it manually for some people reluctantly. If it's not built into their provisioning process then it adds manual maintenance that breaks later, like what if I want to upgrade the custom kerne...

Re: Installing ASL kernel

In case anybody else is curious: ---------------- Unfortunately, with our infrastructure, we are unable to boot custom kernels at this time. We are only able to have droplets boot from standard ke...

Re: Installing ASL kernel
Interesting digital ocean got back to me: We do not support the installing of custom kernels on your own, however if you are able to install one of your kernels on your Droplet, we can manually import it and set the system to use it when your Droplet boots. In order to do so, please open up a suppor...
