This helped me: I also had to add this line back into /etc/sysconfig/named:
ROOTDIR="/var/named/run-root"
It was removed either by Plesk or uninstalling bind-chroot.

Running php5.2.6 with red hat 5 and Plesk 8.4 and noticed no problems so far!

I never noticed any problems from central Germany All works fine!
