Re: Qmail-scanner: Unable to change group ID / broken pipe

Scratch that, horrible solution. That simply gets postfix running alongside the shut down qmail. Not effective with qmail-scanner of course. Switching MTA's back results in the same issue.

Re: Qmail-scanner: Unable to change group ID / broken pipe

My solution was found at: http://notes.homelinux.org/index.php/Linux/Qmail I realized however I had gotten beyond the above errors after fixing up clamd's (persistent) permissions issues (back to clamav.qcsand), as well as verifying qmail-queue* ownerships and perms were correct. I'm not using qmail...

Re: Qmail-scanner: Unable to change group ID / broken pipe

Ahh, and after toying with this and changing errors, what I got before was the best I've seen so far (email working, spam filtering not so hot). I'm on a different project at the moment but hopefully I can get this fixed ASAP. If I'm lucky enough to figure something nifty out I'll be sure to let you...

Re: Qmail-scanner: Unable to change group ID / broken pipe

I run Gamera within VPS's - on RHEL/CentOS's Xen-based virtualization, and it works quite nicely! I don't want to spam the board, but if interested you're more than welcome to reach me via my contact info on this forum. I'm also having a very similar issue: After an upgrade to v9 am noticing that ma...

I love replying to myself... ;) The last defunct process was overcome by commenting out the lines in init which call svcscan, and completely killing every last thing qmail. After this, I verified I couldn't intentionally break the permissions again, with qmail-scanner-reconfigure, or a forced logrot...

Wish I would have caught this thread a little sooner. I was having nearly constant segfault under high load maybe a month+ ago for some time. I, too noticed the huge amount of memory each apache process was using with every rule loaded including the RBL, etc. I was also able to find that the RBL che...

By the way, I had defunct multilog procs which lead me to think that.

I still have one I'm noticing, trying to track that down still...at least for now it's working, mostly. :)

I have one pg server that keeps doing this too and just came to post about it myself. In the meantime while gathering info to post I figured out my problem, maybe it'll help you as well... Check out your /var/log/smtpd and /var/log/qmail directories. The contents of those directories had changed on ...

Seems that way from what Scott said, but let me know what you find out, I'm looking to move spam filtering over to a different machine as well.

Another way to do it is just to simply make the repo file yourself and place it in /etc/yum.repos.d/. Mine is called plesk.repo and contains: [plesk-8.6] name=ART Plesk RPMs baseurl=http://3es.atomicrocketturtle.com/channels/plesk/8.6.0/centos/5/x86_64/ enabled=1 priority=1 For you, you would replac...

I'm not really sure, I assumed it had to be within the vhost configuration. Could be wrong, Directory or Location would be much better....

Unfortunately I found out the same thing. What I do is only allow popen for webmail: 1. Keep the popen function allowed in php.ini. 2. Install php-suhosin via yum/asl channel. 3. Globally disallow all of the recommended functions by ASL (and anything else) with: suhosin.executor.func.blacklist <func...

Sorry if I wasn't clear about my question/concerns. I'm well aware that if I want a package I must live with its dependencies. (At least these days its painless to satisfy them all.) I just prefer to keep the number of installed packages installed to a minimum. I guess my point is prior to the updat...

magic quotes question

Does anyone have any idea what could have caused one of the below updated packages to bring down all of my customers' WordPress installation? Via trial and error I found that disabling magic_quotes_gpc & runtime fixes the issue. Seems to me this could be a sloppy fix for another problem. I updat...

Nice post! All are good points, my favs in order of most interested to lesser: - Add additional Switches to ASL command line - Update ASL Web GUI to alert you when you submit a FP (with comment) - Dont block self referenced sites in URL - Implement Vhost limits (resources - but in the scope of ASL?)...
