Re: Yum update requires more room in /boot

Thanks Paulie, we have it sorted out now. How many kernel packages do you have installed? What is installonly_limit in /etc/yum.conf set to? yum.conf install only was set to 5, if I set it to 3 I think that might prevent issues in the future whilst still allowing us to go back if required In terms o...

Re: Mail not accepting on port 25

It turns out plesk/qmail has decided it doesn't like spamdyke anymore. After removing the spamdyke lines from /etc/xintetd.d/smtp_psa everything was fine. Spamdyke config tests show everything up as OK so I'm not sure what the problem is. A while back spamassassin was not working properly and we not...

Re: Mail not accepting on port 25

netstat -alnp | grep :25 shows lots of "TIME_WAIT"
Mail is no longer sending from the server.
maillog shows lots of lines about relaylock

/etc/services is fine.
I'm running out of ideas

Re: Setting up a server as secondary/backup for hosting and

Thank you for your answer Highland. We have used rsync before but I'm looking to see if other options give us more flexibility/managability. We are already pretty sure what we need to do for email backup. It's access to websites, etc that we are less sure of. Some sites are database driven and would...

Mail not accepting on port 25 || spamdyke SEMI-SOLVED

We are running plesk 10 on CentOS 5 (x86_64) After a plesk panel update/install last night our server has stopped accepting mail on port 25. I am sure this update was the issue as initially sw-cp-server was for some reason on port 25 instead of xinetd. After stopping that and getting xinetd to liste...

Setting up a server as secondary/backup for hosting and mail

We have two servers; both are running plesk on CentOS 5. Server sA is new and we have just migrated all the hosting and mail to that one. Server sB is the old one. We want to be able to use sB as backup for sA incase for whatever reason a problem arises with sA. I already know that we can have a mai...

Re: Smooth domain hosting transfer with DNS.

Thank you for the help guys, morercpthosts and smptroutes certainly seem to be the files we needed to look at and after a quick test they worked quite well. It also seems that those are also what I need to enable the old server to act as secondary MX/backup mail server. With regards to the command m...

Re: Smooth domain hosting transfer with DNS.

Thanks for your reply. I should have explained a bit more that actually we want mail to go to the new server too but how our server deals with mail isn't just based on the MX record, if it's got the domain name in /var/qmail/control/rcpthosts etc it will still take it and then either throw an error ...

Re: Smooth domain hosting transfer with DNS.

As my colleague has pointed out to me, all the domains we want to transfer have the same primary nameserver, which is hosted on the older server. This is ns0.domain.co.uk and domain.co.uk also uses ns0.domain.co.uk as it's primary. the other ns records for these domains use our secondary DNS, which ...

Re: Smooth domain hosting transfer with DNS.

Thank you very much for the tips. I do have one question regarding imapsync though. It's quite inefficient to try and sync an email address at a time and though plesk migration manager seems to take care of most things we would like to be sure that nothing is missed. Would it be possible to sync a w...

Smooth domain hosting transfer with DNS.

We have recently acquired a new server and have nearly finished testing set-up etc. on it. Our domain hosting/email/DNS is all done on Plesk on an older server. We want to migrate all of this onto the new server (also using plesk) and use the new server as the primary hosting location (with the old ...

Configuring Spamdyke

We are looking at having spamdyke running on our server (Centos 5 + plesk 10.2) but are worried about having false positives. We do have a configuration file from having used spamdyke a few years ago but that is possibly a little outdated. Would anyone mind posting their spamdyke configurations so w...
