Can I use iptables on old server to forward requests to the the new server, mail, web requests etc whilst waiting for dns propagation?

Personally I use dns on the old server to point to the new server... And if you put down TTL to a few minutes in your DNS it doesnät take many minutes for the dns requests to hit the right server...
