negative score

Unread post by amit290 »

Hey,

I was wondering why a negative scored e-mail would be tagged as spam by spamassassin (not the plesk psa-spamassin). I've had a look around but cant see the answer to this. From what I have read, a negative score should mean its ham.

Just as an example I had one this evening with a score of -0.6, and another -101.2. Both e-mails are from people I know. One via yahoo account, and another from btopenworld (an ISP account).

Thanks
scott

First guess, some other server along the way changed the subject line.

Just to be clear on this point. If SA returns a negative number then it effectively defeats it even if it is spam?

Kind of, it depends on the rules at each hop along the way. My Project Gamera servers will regularly mark something up as spam that will get deleted on the plesk box, even if psa-spamassassin scores it negative.
