How does one apply this patch? ie, which file do I edit and or create to run this?

Thanks.

The file to edit is listed at the top: /usr/share/qmail-scanner/qmail-scanner-queue.template

You can do this manually by editing that file and adding $QS_RELAYCLIENT=1 if (defined($ENV{'SUBMISSION'})); after the line that reads $QS_RELAYCLIENT=1 if (defined($ENV{'RELAYCLIENT'})); (line 636). And then don't forget to run qmail-scanner-reconfigure after that to apply the modified template.

Apparently a qmail-scanner update with this patch is now available in atomic-testing: https://twitter.com/atomicturtle/status ... 3886123008

Just did some testing. It's +1 from me on the qmail-scanner-2.08-5.el5.art package in atomic-testing.

Hm. I have installed it. Everything seems to be working. But how do I get the messages to bypass the scanning?

E-mail clients using your server for outgoing e-mail need to be configured to use port 587 (submission).

Blurg. No one is right now... They'll have to live with the scanning (more or less everyone is using SSL SMTP (port 465)...

It never hurts to tell them that if they have problems with having their outgoing messages scanned they should switch to using port 587 (which also supports SSL), right?

Scott, what are your plans on releasing qmail-scanner with the submission patch? I think it's ready to go.
