New centos 6 Serve Plesk 10 Spamassassin pre-installed issue

Ok, just got this server, hardening it and I made some changes to local.cf. Server was pre-installed with both psa-spamassassin and spamassassin. Made some modifications to local.cf for spamassassin and then try to service spamassassin restart / start / stop .. get a permission denied. Doing this as root btw.

Restarted psa-spamassassin no issues.

In this incarnation of Plesk, still best to remove psa-spamassassin and in this instance R&R spamassassin? Or is there a way to fix this? I've looked in etc/rc.d/init.d and there is a spamassassin there but not executable:

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1664 Aug 22 2010 spamassassin

Haven't seen much on running both in this version of Plesk. Any gotcha's?

Thanks
Franklyn

Also, on this is it still better to have bayes in mySQL or let it run flat file?

It's 755 (-rwxr-xr-x) by default. Run rpm -V spamassassin to verify your spamassassin RPM installation.

I don't use psa-spamassassin myself, but AFAIK psa-spamassassin is just the intregration with the Plesk web interface. The psa-spamassassin package uses the spamassassin package, so you can't use psa-spamassassin without having spamassassin installed.

Thanks for confirming what I thought I knew. :)

Looks like the latest and greates:

[root@felix rc.d]# rpm -V spamassassin
S.5....T. c /etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf
S.5....T. c /etc/sysconfig/spamassassin
[root@felix rc.d]# rpm -qa spamassassin
spamassassin-3.3.1-2.el6.x86_64
[root@felix rc.d]#

Thanks again.
