mysql-5.0.51 Update...

Unread post by crobinson »

Is there plans to update your MySQL to 5.0.52 or later... There is a MySQL bug that causes it to ignore "order by" and puts in last edited... That seems to really fowl up WordPress blogs...

As I recall, I ran into a problem with upgrading a plesk box that had 5.0.52 or higher on it.

It was some issue when upgrading the psa package, it had some unrecoverable error that I dont recall. I couldn't fix it without re-imaging the whole thing.

I did a 5.0.58 in the atomic-testing channel. Give that one a shot and let me know how it goes.

Wow... This did take me a long time to get too...

I have updated to mysql-5.0.58-1.el4.art and a quick VERY basic test it looks like it works fine with Plesk 8.3... Now I have started to test with Plesk 8.4...

Is there a way to post files here?

Just tried to do 58 on my Plesk 8.4 server, and got:

I haven't been around here much lately, ever since I bought this huge Dell server at Xmas in 2006, I haven't had to touch it. It had 490 days of uptime before I had to rip it down and move it to my new job. :?

Now I have a whole data center to run as a full time job :) So I figured I'd throw more RAM and another CPU in the box while it was down and upgrade to MySQL 5 and PHP 5.

First step was to take Plesk from 8.2.1 to 8.4, that went fine.

PHP 5 is giving me the typical php-pear dependency error, waiting for 5.2.6 to be ready.

And MySQL 5.0.58 is giving me the above.

Bleh!

Hmm.. I found mysql-5.0.58-1.el4.art.x86_64.rpm in:

http://www.atomicorp.com/channels/atomi ... 6_64/RPMS/
http://www.atomicorp.com/channels/atomi ... 6_64/RPMS/

Does that mean that MySQL is now in the stable channel, but the package is still listed in testing, and that's why yum can't find it?

... never mind, I answered my own question.. I disabled atomic-testing and yum found it in atomic instead.

Now I get the HUGE conflict list. Obviously it must be a 64 vs. 32 bit conflict.

At the bottom, it also has:
file /etc/php.ini from install of php-common-5.2.6-1.el4.art conflicts with file from package php-4.3.9-3.22.9
