Qmail-Scanner archiving spam....

Unread post by netweblogic »

Hi Guys, Is anyone aware of a way to stop qmail-scanner from archiving spam?

This feature is great until you start archiving 1000 messages a day!

archive or quarantine? It isn't set to archive by default, but it will quarantine virii, or policy violation's.

I want it to skip archival if it's been marked as spam (virii is handled ok).

Out of 1000 messages per day I probably get only 100 ham, but all 1000 would get archived by qs, so you can imagine the problem I'll have in a few months...

Did you turn it on in /etc/qmail-scanner.ini or in /var/qmail/bin/qmail-scanner-queue.pl? Its off by default

I turned on archiving in the ini file (on purpose) and ran qmail-scanner-reconfigure. I want ham to be archived, but not spam.

Oooh ok sorry I missed that. qmail-scanner is the wrong place to do that I think, unless you had it set to reject or delete spam too maybe. I dont recall if the archive event comes before that or not. If it does then you cant do that in qmail-scanner, you'd need to do something down at the mailbox level or write a plugin for it.

I'm certain the archiving is the last thing done, judging by the logs and the fact that SPAM headers are correctly applied on the archived copies as well.

Based on your answer I guess that means qs won't do it, but maybe you know of some pre-written scripts that can scan the folder for spam and delete accordingly after it's been archived?

Thanks
