Loaded plugins: fastestmirror
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile

 * atomic: www6.atomicorp.com
 * base: centos.mirror.transip.nl
 * extras: centos.mirror.transip.nl
 * updates: centos.mirror.transip.nl

httpd.i386  2.2.3-43.el5.centos.3   updates

It's pretty rare to have an issue with a yum upgrade and even rarer from one coming from the "updates" repo. Remember, the "updates" repo is the base of your installation and it comes from the Fedora/RHEL/CentOS team.

I'd even go as far as saying it's unsafe to not upgrade as it fixes several security issues. The security advisory is rated as moderate: https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2010-0659.html
