Plesk 10.4.4 - check-quota filter: Failed to run postalias

Unread post by chrismcb »

Hi,

After an upgrade to 10.4.4, I've been having errors in my mail log which are being reported via ASL.

The errors are not stopping mail come in or go out, but there is obviously something not working right.

Code: Select all

check-quota filter[26013]: Failed to run '/usr/sbin/postalias -q user@domain.com hash:/var/spool/postfix/plesk/virtual', rc = 1
/usr/lib64/plesk-9.0/psa-pc-remote[13635]: handlers_stderr: SKIP
/usr/lib64/plesk-9.0/psa-pc-remote[13635]: SKIP during call 'check-quota' handler
I think this may be related to a previous thread I posted about:
http://www.atomicorp.com/forums/viewtop ... f=3&t=5566

Parallels support on this has been non existent.

Can someone running 10.4.4 do me a favour and list the owner permissions you have set on:
  • /usr/sbin/
  • /usr
  • /usr/lib64/plesk-9.0/
If I seem to be barking up the wrong tree... any other advice?

Thanks
scott

This is what its supposed to be based on redhat's package:

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 224736 Nov 7 09:01 /usr/sbin/postalias

Thanks Scott, that's what it is set to at the moment already.

I'm stumped here... any ideas?

I'm wonrdering if the upgrade has completed correctly.

Should there actually be a "/usr/lib64/plesk-9.0/" after the upgrade?

What about switching to qmail, then back to postfix? Might that solve the problem?

Faris, switching to and from is my next course of action - just need to wait until the mailserver quietens down for the night.

I did, too, question the 9.0 directory.

A few hours more and i'll try your suggestion.

Mail is flowing freely, but something's definitely up!

OK, switched to QMail and back to Postfix... still the same issue.

I left it on QMail for a bit, but got the same errors:

Code: Select all

Nov 29 17:47:12 server qmail-queue-handlers[18746]: handlers_stderr: SKIP
Nov 29 17:47:12 server qmail-queue-handlers[18746]: SKIP during call 'check-quota' handler
Nov 29 17:47:12 server qmail-queue-handlers[18746]: starter: submitter[18748] exited normally
I know that the check-quota handler is new - as it's in the 10.4.1 release notes:
http://download1.parallels.com/Plesk/PP ... ed-os.html

Has anyone else upgraded to 10.4.x and had issues with this handler?

Is there a way to disable it and perhaps wait until 10.4.5?

OK, tried absolutely everything and this handler is causing a headache.

At this point, I'm just looking to disable it.

Any tips on removing a mail handler from the mail queue process?

I'll trawl through the CLI guidelines from Parallels at the weekend.

Such a time-consuming thing to fix!

If anyone knows it off the top of their head, I'm all ears!

Nothing here yet found for this... All I've done is get the ASL team to create a rule to stop it being reported.

We're also experiencing the same problem on CentOS 6 running Plesk 10.4.4.

Chris, can you tell me what the rule ID is that ASL created?

Thanks

Self healing rule 17503 was created to correct the invalid ownership on /usr/sbin. Plesk has a bug where it sets that to hspc:hspc. The conditions are to look for a denied untrusted exec event (60026), that contains /usr/bin/postalias. This will then trigger the self-healing active response to repair the invalid settings on /usr/sbin

To ensure you have the self healing policies in effect, run: asl -s -f

Hello,

We're still getting lots of errors like this:
17501 - plesk check-quota filter[27301]: Failed to run `/usr/sbin/postalias -q x@domain.com hash:/var/spool/postfix/plesk/virtual`, rc = 1
Permissions on /usr/sbin/ look fine: root:root

Any idea what's going on? Can I just disable rule 17501?
