webalizer vs awstats

Unread post by placain »

I was wondering... I was under the impression that 7.5.1 gave the option of awstats vs webalizer, but my install of 7.5.1 seems to only have webalizer. How does one get awstats working?

7.5.1 does not include Awstats. Plesk 7 for Windows does.

It isn't very difficult to get AWStats working externally from plesk. They (awstats) have an rpm that works well to automatically update any number of domains with configured stats.

You put all the awstats conf files in /etc/awstats/ and set a cron job to run PATH_TO_AWSTSTS/tools/awstats_updateall.pl whenever you want them to update.

In /etc/awstats/, just copy awstats.model.conf to awstats.DOMAIN.conf , and edit a few things such as the path to the logs, the domain name, etc. It can all be done with a shell script
