Ok here is what I have, I saw a similar post but I didnt see a resolution.

I want to upgrade php4.2 to 4.3 on plesk 7.5 reloaded. my operating system redhat 9 on a virtuoso virtual dedicated server.

WhenI run
yum update

..conflict between kernel and e2fsprogs

the same happens with yum upgrade.

Any info would help

exclude those packages on a virtuozzo box, since it doesnt really use them.
