Installed chkrootkit, "can't find strings"

Unread post by JerkyChew »

I did a yum install chkrootkit on our FC2/Plesk 7.5.3 box, but when I try to run chkrootkit I get the error "can't find strings". I checked, and do not have a /usr/bin/strings. Is there an easy place to grab strings from? I don't have another FC2 box handy to pull them off of.

Thanks.

strings is part of the binutils rpm, which is typically part of the core install I believe. Are you on a vserver? They might not install it on that.
