Re: LOG_ALERT_LEVEL issue in ossec-server.conf

Noticed that we were on ASL3x, and an upgrade to ASL4x fixed everything.

Re: LOG_ALERT_LEVEL issue in ossec-server.conf

I see both HIDS_LOG_ALERT_LEVEL and HIDS_EMAIL_ALERT_LEVEL defined similarly. [root@hosting1 ~]# find /var/asl -exec grep -H _ALERT_LEVEL {} \; Binary file /var/asl/bin/asl matches Binary file /var/asl/bin/aum matches /var/asl/rules/ossec/templates/config.template:HIDS_EMAIL_ALERT_LEVEL="@@7@@&...

LOG_ALERT_LEVEL issue in ossec-server.conf

Hi - Everytime we update ASL settings and save the configuration from the UI on port 30000, the ossec-hids service starts throwing errors in its log file. 2015/05/17 05:38:24 ossec-config(1235): ERROR: Invalid value for element 'log_alert_level': @@LOG_ALERT_LEVEL@@. 2015/05/17 05:39:34 ossec-config...

Re: Broken MySQL after update.

Ran into the same issue on a Plesk server. Restarting MySQL alone did not fix it, had to bounce the box.

Re: Qmail-scanner: Unable to change group ID / broken pipe

Forgot to mention, that I also had to do this to get everything working after the Plesk 8.6 to 9.0 upgrade.

mkdir /var/qmail/mailnames/.spamassassin/
chown popuser.popuser /var/qmail/mailnames/.spamassassin/
chmod 770 /var/qmail/mailnames/.spamassassin/

Re: Qmail-scanner: Unable to change group ID / broken pipe

Wow, got it to work based on some post over at the Swsoft forums. The following perms seem to do the trick, although their security implications are yet to be analyzed. -r-sr-xr-x 1 root root 34128 Jan 27 07:08 smtp_auth -r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 6704 Jan 27 07:08 relaylock -r-xr-xr-x 1 root qmail 2892...

By latency, I meant the delay in getting the clients added to the clientlist via swatch. And the idea of not using qgreylist on SMTPS submission was not enticing either, since we have a bunch of small businesses who use local Linux servers on ADSL lines, and their submission is coming from their Pos...

Cool.

Does any one know off-hand where the list of valid pop-before-smtp mails is maintained on a Plesk system (either on the qmail side or on the courier side) ? Basically I am looking for that file or folder where this is maintained, so that I can incorporate it into qgreylist.

qgreylist and pop-before-smtp

Hi Scott - The qgreylist did wonders to the server load ! The problem we are facing now is the lack of integration to pop-before-smtp, which is used by a bunch of clients who run local Linux servers on DSL connections without static IPs, and use Plesk server for outgoing mails and fetchmail for mail...

Yep, they were set to "bounce" instead of "reject". After setting them to "reject", the load on the server has improved.

It is pretty lame that the default option is not "reject". Hope they fix this in one of the upcoming releases.

qmail madness

Hi - I am running Plesk 8.6.0 on CentOS 4, with qmail-scanner from ART. Works great ! The issue is that I have been seeing my CPU load go up as more and more spam hits the server. the server. The question I have is, why are spam mails to non-existent users getting to clamav and spamassassin ? I have...

Yes, phpinfo() does report both "mysql" and "mysqli" sections, with the "Client API Version" as "4.1.22". The issue seems to be limited to Plesk detecting MySQL5 correctly. Like you said, both MySQL and PHP are working fine by themselves (and with each other)....

php-mysql 5.2.5 4.el4.art

Basically, whatever is the current update available on ART.

Plesk is not detecting Mysql 5

Hi - I have a new Centos 4.6 server with the following. Plesk - 8.3.0 cos4.build83071218.20 Mysql - 5.0.51 1.el4.art mysqlclient14 - 4.1.22 2.el4.art PHP - 5.2.5 4.el4.art With this combination, phpinfo() would not even list mysql support initially, which I resolved by changing extension_dir = /usr/...
