Re: ASL Web Errors

I'm experiencing a similar problem with ossec-analysisd, but I have a different error showing in the OSSEC log: 2018/06/30 12:51:48 ossec-analysisd: ERROR: (1226): Error reading XML file '/etc/decoder.xml': XMLERR: File '/etc/decoder.xml' not found. (line 317). 2018/06/30 12:51:48 ossec-analysisd: C...

Re: WP xmlrpc attack

I'm getting hit by this one again today. Over 22,000 events being logged for rule 392301 today alone. I have active response disabled for the rule so it hasn't really been a huge problem, but it does still have an impact on my server load. One thing that I have noticed after going through 3 or 4 wav...

Disabling Heartbleed Checks

Is there a way to disable these checks every time I run asl -s -f and every time the hourly update runs? I have a lot of IP addresses and this check take a considerable amount of time.

Re: include_path problem with PHP 5.2

I was editing it in the PHP Settings area available in Plesk. It seems to be picking up the changes as I see it changed in the error logs, but it's still not working. Here is a sample of the error log... [Fri Apr 25 14:42:00 2014] [warn] [client xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Warning: inclu...

include_path problem with PHP 5.2

I'm trying to use 5.2 to get an old copy of OSCommerce to work for a client, but I'm having an include_path problem. I see this is currently included... include_path='.:/opt/atomic/atomic-php52/root/usr/share/pear:/opt/atomic/atomic-php52/root/usr/share/php' I've tried adding :/var/www/vhosts/shopdo...

Re: QMAIL - Emails are sent from the server IP, not domain I

I recently converted about 200 domains over to Postfix in Plesk 11.5...so far, I haven't had a single problem with it. Spamassassin and Clamav both work fine. I also installed "clapf" which is essentially like qmail-scanner for Postfix and that also appears to be working fine. One thing to...

Re: ASL 4 web interface issues

So far, I've experienced two issues with the latest version of ASL... 1. While using the web interface, when I click the False Positive button a new window opens up and I just see a "Cancel" button in the middle of the window. There's no indication as to whether or not the false positive r...

Re: Project-gamera on CentOS 6

I've been having trouble installing Gamera on a fresh 6.5 install. Nothing seems to get configured with clamav. It's just the "Example" config file and it won't start.

Re: Virtual server at 1and1.

SNI looks like a great option down the road, but it's my understanding that it's not supported on Windows XP...which, sadly, is still about 15% of the market. For people selling things online, that's a decent sized chunk of their market.

Re: Virtual server at 1and1.

.99 up to seven of them....or at least that's what their maximum was last I checked. I guess that would probably be fine for most, but I host a lot of ecommerce sites so a maximum of seven was a deal breaker for me.

Re: Virtual server at 1and1.

I'm currently looking to migrate away from Softlayer as well. I think my hang up with 1and1 cloud was a very strict IP address limitation. I've been looking into https://www.ubiquityservers.com/cloud as well.

Parallels Plesk Automation

Has anyone tried out Parallels Plesk Automation? Apparently it allows you to easily separate mail, web, dns, database, etc to multiple servers and manage them all through one "management node". One hang up I've found so far with the management node... * PPA does not support kernels with th...

Solid State Drives

I would love to hear some opinions or experiences with using SSD's for a web hosting environment. I've read that their performance can degrade over time (because of write amplification?) and that reliability varies significantly across different SSD manufacturers and models. Also, does the ASL kerne...
