Re: details preview of Plesk 10.4.X
Actually we just went from 9.5 to 10.4 on www2.atomicorp.com the other day (with myql 5.5, php 5.3.9, etc). It was all pretty painless. That being said, I want to give an honorable mention to Interworx. I havent used it as a control panel so I cant comment on how it compares against the others, but...

Re: details preview of Plesk 10.4.X
Plesk has made all of us suffer. This is because parallels don't take this job seriously or their coders are out of business kids. They are publishing code to be updated on thousands of production servers without even having tested what they build. I am convinced about that. Some bugs are so big my ...

Re: [atomic] imap sync repo conflict
Hi there. Thanks for the reply.
I see. If I install an rpm is there a possibility this might somehow affect the packages installed or yum functionality ?
Also would you recommend some specific flags for installation of the rpm ?

It worked allthough some sites experienced issues and I had to disable it again. :( Some Joomla sites work great while others crashed. An example : Joomla website error : Database Error: Unable...

Re: directory index
Check your AllowOverride setting in apache. That prevents htaccess overrides. Thanks for your reply mike. There are many allowoverrides in different directories in the httpd.conf. Example : <Directory "/var/www/html"> Alias /error/ "/var/www/error/" etc ... I am not sure which o...

directory index
I have a customer who wants to use directory index. I created a .htaccess with Options +Indexes and turned files into 777 but no luck.
Any ideas how to do that for a specific customer ?
thanks !

Hi nobody mysql -uadmin -p`cat /etc/psa/.psa.shadow` psa -e "select id, login, email, contactName from smb_users where email='admin@server.tld';" works for us, changing only the email address, but leaving all the single and double quotes etc. The email address needs to be one that is on t...

suPHP good or bad ?
Hello. So I have everyday many many support tickets from people complaining because they didn't use the ftp layer and messed up with their file permissions that have been changed to apache:apache owner. So I was thinking of installing suphp to solve that problem. Cpanel uses it natively. I've read s...

Re: swap is killing servers instead of saving them
Well I can try that.
But its not only mysql. I see 2gb cache and 380mb on swap. This 380mb are from all around services. Apache, mysql, qmail, clamav etc ...
So even if I solve the mysql problem I would still pretty much have the same issue.

Is this on a x86_64 or i386 box? What does your /etc/my.cnf look like? Oh and what kernel are you on? Thanks for your reply Scott ! This is a x86_64. swap is killing servers instead of saving them
Ok. Over the last few months I am thinking of disabling swap on my servers. It has turned out to be a real pain in the *ss. I see servers without having memory pressure since 20-50% of their memory is shown as cached and not us active and I have mysql going to swap and writing even 500mbyte taking t...
