Ive changed the original sessions folder to 0770 and use session.save_path like you suggest, its working fine.

Since last php update ive trouble on some sites.
Problem: permission denied for sessions

Ive seen sessions are written to /var/lib/php/session.
Now, to solve this problem i chmod 777 this folder.
Is this a safe solution?

If i remove /etc/resolv.conf, restart server, i still can dig any unique domain.
How is that possible, how does my vps gets the ip by domain?

Are nameservers in etc/resolv.conf cached somewhere?

It just solve the problem for a short time. I still have problems with plesk 10.1. After my final option (reboot) the problem looks solved. Now the fopen works fast withoud any config change.
I keep an extra eye on the problem server, if i find anything i will post it here.
