Turns out that relaylock that runs before spamdyke had changed the user from root to qmaild.
I changed the full-log-dir to /tmp/smtp_full_log, created that directory and changed permission/ownership so qmaild can write to it.
Then I started logs being generated!

Spamdyke: Can't enable excessive logging
Hi guys, I've been trying to allow Spamdyke to make full SMTP logs by re-compiling it. I noticed at the end it of the ./configure output says "config.h is unchanged" - could this be indicating that it's going wrong somewhere? After I ran make, I copied spamdyke to /usr/bin/ [root@server sp...

Re: ASL Security Events
Sometimes the IPs seem to be something that's mapped to IPv6. like ::ffff:xx:xx:xx:xx I'm not sure how to block these... For example, I've been getting something like: Rule: 40111 (level 10) -> 'Multiple authentication failures.' Oct 31 12:21:09 server imapd: LOGIN FAILED, ip=[::ffff:xx.xx.xx.xx] Oc...

Re: Plesk Slave Server
Anyone have any opinions on my idea? You would be better off with either a daily full system backup, a CDP solution or a virtualised environment. Virtualisation allows you to clone or backup an entire machine easily. This backup or clone can be kept on a second hardware node. If the first goes down,...

Re: Cron update failure for spamassassin?
Installed perl-Digest-SHA and ran the rpm upgrade for perl-Net-DNS-0.66.
I didn't get the notification from the cron daemon and Spamassassin hasn't stopped working so I'm guessing my problem is solved.
Many thanks, Biggles!

Re: Cron update failure for spamassassin?
There seems to be even later versions here, http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.php?query=perl-Net-DNS Shouldn't there be some kind of automatic upgrading mechanism? yum upgrade doesn't seem to work I've manually downloaded using wget perl-Net-DNS-0.66-1.el5.rfx.x86_64.rpm and tried to run rpm ...

Re: Cron update failure for spamassassin?
Thank you very much Biggles. Still a bit unsure, though. My perl-Net-DNS is version 0.59, so do I have to upgrade to version 0.66? Also the release doesn't have the .rfx of the RepoForge Extras repo tag. Is there something I need to correct this? [root@our_plesk_server]# rpm -qi perl-Net-DNS Name : ...

Re: Plesk Slave Server
Ok, so here's my plan: Format and install an OS on my secondary server (probably CentOS 5.8). Install say, VirtualBox and create a virtual environment. Set up Webmin with qmail, spamdyke, spamassassin and whatever else that's been used on the master server so that the slave mimics most of its functi...

Re: Restoring a deleted domain subscription
I've retried this: Used the command line to make the backup, in case the backup utility doesn't do the same operation. /usr/local/psa/bin/pleskbackup domains-name mydomain.com And as previously, I used the restore command /usr/local/psa/bin/pleskrestore --restore /var/lib/psa/dumps/clients/me/domain...

MX Records on all domains of Plesk
Hi guys, I'm trying to list the domains and their nameservers on our plesk server. For a single domain, I'd go to the Plesk control panel and go to "websites/domains" -> "dns settings". I want to do that for over 100 domains and there should be a better way to do this than lookin...

Re: Restoring a deleted domain subscription
Ok, I seem to have found the answer here: http://download1.parallels.com/Plesk/PPP9/Doc/en-US/plesk-9.0-backup-cli-guide/index.htm?fileName=62506.htm In my case, I'm trying to restore a single domain for a client. Apart from the option -level domains The rest is up to the backup file's path and name...

Restoring a deleted domain subscription
Hi guys, I want to remove a domain from our Plesk server, but I've decided to back it up using Plesk's backup manager. I now have a backup of the domain on both the server repository and as a local copy (tar file). However, I'm not sure how I can restore this once the subscription is removed from th...

Server sends email using an old MX record?
I've been getting notifications from qmail whenever an automated email is sent to particular emails, that the email could not be delivered. These email addresses are from a domain that we used to host and we don't anymore. So we can't send emails to these addresses from our server anymore. We were o...
