Just FYI, while awaiting an updated package, I have been able to work around this by downgrading *just* the openvas-manager package via:
yum downgrade openvas-manager-6.0.8-35.el6.art

I can confirm, same error message running on CentOS 6.8. I also noticed dependency problems upgrading the 'nettle' package, may or may not be related: ---> Package nettle.x86_64 0:3.2-2.el6 will be an update --> Finished Dependency Resolution Error: Package: 1:atomic-gnutls3-gnutls-3.1.25-1.el6.art....
