Re: Server-wide .htaccess

OK. My firewall will accept CIDR's in this format:

123.0.0.1/23

I've looked and don't find a list

Re: Server-wide .htaccess

Hey Scott! Good morning. I agree. I just can't enter CIDR's, just host ranges. I can import a text file and need to explore that. The firewall kicks butt!

Re: Server-wide .htaccess

Hey Faris!

Nice to see you. I can put them in our WatchGuard Peak X8000 but that will take a long time. I can't enter CDR's like 212/24.

Any suggestions on a .htaccess on the HN that will affect the containers?

Server-wide .htaccess

I am getting pounded by hackers from RIPE and AsiaNet. My client would like me to block all access from overseas.

How can I create a server-wide .htaccess file? On each node or how about on Virtuozzo that actually has two virtual servers (they're small and the servers are beefy.)

Hammered with SSO Hacks

I don't know if I missed a security bulletin but I am getting hammered by hacks that upload to /tmp and then execute something that loads: sso_main.phpapi.socket-0 sso_main.phpapi.socket-1 sso_main.phprelay.socket-0 sso_main.phprelay.socket-1 and then executes: sw-engine-cg How/can I turn off CGI se...

Unable to create a backup on Virtuozzo

I got a message that a backup failed that has been running on a cron for years, No clue why it failed. I went to the DIR of the backup and found failed splits of a backup. But I don't split and deleted them. LOL. Now vzbackup tells me that it cannot delete the files that I deleted. I've been a progr...

Re: Cannot delete files :: Permission Denied

You guys are great. I appreciate how you each foster a learning environment. You have businesses of your own yet you make time for me. I appreciate each one of you. When my daughter was diagnosed with cancer over 8 years ago my business -- and time for learning -- took a back seat. Now in remission ...

Re: Cannot delete files :: Permission Denied

You know, over the years I have been steadily learning and I appreciate each of you. But I am confused.

We have a Watchguard X8000 firewall and SSH is enabled only for stated IPs. How then could a hacker get into the server? Only me and specified clients plus Parallel's have IPs stated.

Re: Cannot delete files :: Permission Denied

I am running maldetect to see what site was compromised. But now I am researching how I can lock down SSH to only two IP's. I don't know how the container was compromised since it is behind a hardware firewall. Only Parallel's and my client are supposed to have access.

Re: Cannot delete files :: Permission Denied

Thank you for your reply. I appreciate you.

I've tried that. lsattr gives me:

Cannot delete files :: Permission Denied

Well, it looks like I've had a server hacked. The hacker made access through a Wordpress site (what else!), downloaded a script, etc. He left behind a script that shows part of his actions. He grabbed the RSA key and somehow has locked known_hosts and authorized_keys. I have tried everything that OI...

Re: Core Dump Error Message

Hey Faris,

Long time...

I am trying to run a CRON for VZABackup and even though I have keys on both machines that allow me to login without a password VZA forces me to enter the root username and password.

Re: Core Dump Error Message

A backup was impossible so I crossed my fingers and did a successful reboot. But dammit. Plesk won't let me put in a cron and forces me to login. But yet my key works if I ssh in. I'm trying to do a kernel update but vzup2date doesn't seem to have it. I need to spend more time in here but I am injur...
