Newbie Question - Upgrade MySQL (PLESK 7.5.3)

Unread post by robertjgarza »

We have a remote server using PLESK 7.5.3 but I need MySQL 4.1.x (or whatever I the latest stable version) and I would love to upgrade PHP too. I have read many horror stories about others messing up their systems so I am trying to avoid that from happening.

AtomicRocketTurtle seems to offer THE best hope of succeeding but I want to make sure that I am on the right track.

It seems that I need to go to the shell prompt (I'm using Putty to connect), login as the superuser and issue the command "yum install atomic-psa" to get started.

But then what????
I see talk about RMPs but where to they get copied?
Does the PLESK Updater take over after that??

Does anyone have (or point me to) a document or series of steps that would tell this???

Looks like I have Red Hat Enterprise Linux v3.1 and here is some of the info:
