Backup server

Unread post by mist_firefly »

I read the following topic but I would need a easier option than this for now.
https://www.atomicorp.com/forums/viewto ... =18&t=6154

Similar issue we have one plesk 10 licence and another server that has nothing on.

We would need a way to backup regularly on the second server just in case something goes wrong with the first one so at least we have all our clients data safe.
Is there an easier way of doing that?
What should I look into? And what would be he way to restore everything after the backup ?

Thanks

Making backups of all the data on your server is a good idea. Ideally you make backups to an off-site location, perhaps in addition to local backups for fast restores. Design a backup strategy suitable for your organization, and perhaps you can utilize an existing backup service. Or build your own backup system, it could be something as simple as an rsync over SSH script.

Take into consideration that file-level backups of databases do not guarantee data integrity, This can be fixed by creating database dumps beforehand or a strategy with binary logs if running database dumps every day is undesirable.

I can also recommend occasionally testing your recovery strategy.
