I guess you need to modify /etc/php.d/ioncube.ini to point to the loader for PHP 5.3.

what version of php-ioncube-loader are you using?

php-ioncube-loader-4.0.5-1.el5.art

and sorry my fault i have not checked the ini file, this was the failure, it works now ..
