Changing hosting plan

We have a domain that want's from physically being hosted to be forwarded to another website. I did a simple backup of it on the control panel and now I need to forward it to the other domain..

Is this done only by changing the hosting type from what it is on now to forwarded? And then I will have the option to write the domain I'm forwarding to?

that depends on what you want to achieve and what you are in control of.
And Yes. Changing the hosting plan via Plesk to forwarding would make it possible to set the target domain.
You could also do it by changing the DNS records.
