Forced to upgrade from 9.5 to 11.5 tips needed

Unread post by JnascECSI »

Today I found out I am being forced to upgrade from 9.5 to 11.5 with a end date of august 10th. Basically when I performed the last micro update #28 it caused a license issue and SWshaft aka Parrahell's terminated our license and gave me a temp one. There is no way around it and now I have to decide on weather I grab a new box with clean install of centos 6 and plesk 11.5 or attempt an in place upgrade from 9.5 to 11.5.

Does anyone have any tips or recommendations on which way I should proceed? Also someone mentioned that the migration manager will not work between 9.5 and 11.5 and not to sure how true this is and I have some pretty big sites with databases that will be a pain if I have to migrate manually.

I would definitely do a migration. Did one about a month ago from 8.6 to 11 and it worked more or less flawlessly.

Did you use the migration manager or move it all manually?

I recommend using the Plesk Migration Manager from 9.5.4 to 11.0.9. We have done these several times without problems.
