PHP 5.4.45, 5.5.29 and PHP 5.6.13

Unread post by Imaging »

FYI, PHP 5.4.45, 5.5.29 and PHP 5.6.13 are out:

http://php.net/archive/2015.php#id2015-09-04-4

in regards to updating the atomic repo and related packages.

For 5.4.45, they note:

PHP 5.4.45 is the last scheduled release of PHP 5.4 branch

Has it been decided on what the new base php packages will be based on (our strong preference is for 5.6.x and keeping non SCL packages in the mix for a direct upgrade from the 5.4.x packages to 5.6.x packages)?

Thanks.

Updates are out for these.

What Im thinking of doing is launching the Base PHP packages in a new repo, called quantum (on PHP 5.6). Atomic would drop the Base PHP packages and continue updating the SCL ones there.

Thoughts?

Thanks for the response.

That works for us (assuming the base 5.6.x quantum packages will be a direct upgrade over the current atomic 5.4.x packages and assuming quantum is a public repo like atomic that covers the same OSes for CentOS/RHEL 5.x - 7.x).

Exactly on all counts, it will be following the same rules atomic does now. Public repo, and would upgrade without any extra steps (like SCL packaging)

Great, thanks for the clarification.

Is there an ETA for when it will be live?

Scott:

What's our ETA on the quantum updates now that 5.4.x is EOL along with the release of the new 5.6.14.

Thanks.
