Script creation of a asl web user

Unread post by hostingguy »

Hi,

I wanted to use a script to create an asl web user on dozens of boxes.

Something like
/var/asl/bin/asl-web-useradd user password email

Is such a thing possible?

This section of the wiki doesnt appear to work anymore
How can I create new accounts in the ASL GUI ?
Just run this command as root:
/var/asl/bin/asl-web-useradd <new user name>
For example, if your wanted to create the username "jdoe", run this command as root:
/var/asl/bin/asl-web-useradd jdoe
Note: Your ASL GUI username and password are only used to log into your ASL installation. These are not to be confused with your License Manager credentials, which are used by ASL itself to log into the Atomicorp servers to securely download updates for your system. This procedure does not change your License Manager credentials.
NO matter what is entered it just asks me for the username and PW.

I don't believe it is currently possible to manage ASL web users via the command-line. We have filed a feature request to be able to create and modify ASL web users and their permissions via a command-line interface.
