Plesk updates

Unread post by josejavier »

Hi

I have been experiencing this issue for about 4 month but I did not have time to deal with it until now. So my parallel plesk license key does not automatically renew. So every month or when I need to use the plesk I have to call Godaddy and they add a new license key manually. They keep telling me that the issue is related to my firewall. However I check under "firewall rules"-->"asl-plesk-updates" and I can see the below:

1 Traffic to IP 195.214.233.80/32 on port(s) 5224 using tcp will be allowed
This rule applies only to NEW connections.
2 Traffic to IP 77.245.23.80/32 on port(s) 5224 using tcp will be allowed
This rule applies only to NEW connections.

I believe those are the right IP addresses for license key updates. The above means that my firewall allows those IPs to perform updates, isn't??

Anything else that could be causing this issue?

Thanks in advance
scott

195.214.233.80 is the new IP for ka.parallels.com. So that is definitely correct. Have you tried seeing if you can connect to ports 80 & 443 on that from your server?

I am checking under "ASL configuration"--> "plesk security" and I have the following value ticked

Plesk Update policy:FW_PLESK_UPDATES: Enable/Disable Plesk keyserver update firewall policy. Default:[no]

Should it be ticked or unticked???

I will double check if I can connect to those port and let you know.

Hi Scott

so I am doing ping 195.214.233.80 443 and ping 195.214.233.80 80 and both of them give me the same result:

ping: sendmsg: Operation not permitted

Any advise?

Thanks in advance
