ASL config via GUI gone read-only?

Unread post by faris »

I just updated aum and asl and noticed that I can't seem to change the config via the GUI - I get values but no option to change anything.

I don't know if it is related, but there's this in the error log:

Code: Select all

2	2	ASLWCL::clientapi_get	An error occurred attempting to read file /etc/asl/cl_clientapi
Check ownership and permissions

Same issue, as of this morning the gui is read only on at least 3 of our boxes I've checked this morning, I'm going to assume all that were updated yesterday.

We see what causes this on some platforms and just put out an update. Just run:

aum -uf

And log out of the console and back in to refresh your permissions.

To make sure youre running 4.0.12-26 and that should fix this for you.

aum -uf didn't actually update the aum, asl and asl-* packages. Is it supposed to do so?

Manually updating them to -26 resolved the problem. Thanks!
