ASL Installation did not install kernel

Unread post by imadsani »

I just noticed that the ASL installer didn't install the ASL kernel, I completely removed and re-installed it and found the following error message:

Code: Select all

kernel-2.6.32-573.12.1.el6.x86_64
grep: /boot/grub2/grub.cfg: No such file or directory
DEBUG 0

Running kernel was not detected in /boot/grub2/grub.cfg
This may be a container or custom kernel environment
Kernel installation is not possible in this configuration.
The installer did not ask me what kind of environment I was running, dedicated or virtual, and this is a dedicated server I'm installing ASL to.

I've checked the server and the path inside /boot is /boot/grub/grub.conf

Can you tell me more about the environment? /boot/grub2/grub.cfg not being present would indicate that this isnt a standard redhat-ish type setup.

Code: Select all

 CentOS release 6.7 (Final)
It's a dedicated server with a Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-1650 v2.

I just checked another server I'm running with ASL and that too doesn't have the kernel at the location you mentioned, it's present @ /boot/grub/grub.conf, which has the kernel installed as well.
