Unable to activate T-WAF

Unread post by iv@rh »

This is the first time I see such a problem:
on a vanilla install of CentOS 7, Nginx 1.10, MariaDB 10.1, PHP 5.6 (no Apache)
Fresh install of ASL via the installer script.
No issues during the installation. Upon first login to ASL console it reports no ossec-* services are running.
Started the service manually via systemctl.
But I am unable to activate T-WAF feature, it reports that it is not available on current subscription level:
This system is not licensed for this feature.
Please click here to get a license for the ASL T-WAF
Referring to ASL Wiki, it highlights this exact error message (http://wiki.atomicorp.com/wiki/index.ph ... r_messages) and advises to install WAF module (yum install asl-waf-module), however it is installed.

So I am stuck and unable to enable it (http://wiki.atomicorp.com/wiki/index.php?title=Nginx)

logged support ticket, but it looks a bit slow in order to resolve.

Does/did anyone has issue like this and could assist resolving it?

Thank you for all your responses all those who tried to help.

In case someone encounters problem like that:
You would expect that configuring ASL T-WAF via web interface would work, right? Not with ASL T-WAF. You have to SSH into the server and restart tortixd in order to activate your changes.
Even updating rules/ASL configuration requires this step when you use T-WAF.

Code: Select all

systemctl restart tortixd
