Openvas scanner not working

Unread post by dschoistig »

Hi everyone,

i'm new to this so please write in a "noob-friendly" way for me to understand ..
I'm trying to get openvas to work but when i ~# openvas-start i get:
A dependency job for openvas-scanner.service failed. See 'journalctl -xe' for details.

And the scanner isn't started.
(● openvas-scanner.service - Open Vulnerability Assessment System Scanner Daemon
Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/openvas-scanner.service; disabled; vendor preset: disabled)
Active: inactive (dead)
Docs: man:openvassd(8)
http://www.openvas.org/
)

journalctl -xe gives me:

Try upgrading to the branch from the atomic repo, we just added Kali support yesterday:

wget -q -O - https://updates.atomicorp.com/installers/atomic | bash

then run openvas-setup

Still the same error, openvas-scanner.service doesn't start :(
