Stuck at 1% no ping

Hey, so I'm new to this whole openvas thing so sorry if I make stupid mistakes..
I installed openvas and configured it with openvas-ckeck-setup and when I start a scan it says requested and then stops at 1% forever. Furthermore I also lose the ability to ping the target, even though it worked before and we're in the same network. No clue what this can be, had this exact problem on a virtual machine (Hyper-V) and on a standalone installation now
