DKIM and Plesk 11

Knowing that Parallels hasn't implemented it yet how does one configure qmail-scanner or some other tool to use the perl-Mail-DKIM module? What do I need to do in the DNS record for the domain that I need to configure or do I just configure it for the whole server? Not much coherent information on this in one place.

Thanks.

Inbound spamassassin is going to track it automatically by default. Outbound, have you looked at this:

Thanks Scott.

I've seen all kinds of posts on how to implement DomainKeys. I've got DomainKeys turned on for the domains to use and this domain in particular. What I need to get implemented is DKIM which is different than the DomainKeys. Gmail is dumping one of my clients emails into their spam folder even though there is a proper SPF and DomainKey setup. I'm not looking to use DomainKeys to check inbound mail. Just trying to get the DKIM signature on outbound mail from this one domain.

Wasn't sure if there was a way to use qmail-scanner to sign outbound mail using the qmail-remote and perl-Mail-DKIM function.

Well shucks, I dug into this deeper, it looks like the only place to add it is as a patch for qmail. Another method I ran across was to do this by way of a qmail rc file, but Im pretty sure this wont work with the xinetd implementation:

Some possibilities using that method though, basically you're putting a wrapper around qmail-remote.

Another option, it looks like you can do this in postfix natively:

I keep getting bit by postfix in some way or another... /sigh.

I'll have to check the first option you linked...

Scott, any way you can find out if Parallels is going to implement this? Or have they and it is undocumented? I thought I read that they were putting it in 11.5.

Thanks.

I don't think you should expect any complex additions to the Plesk qmail implementation in future versions. If they do anything, they will do it for Postfix.

Qmail is pretty much dead and outdated (at least according to its detractors). Some people, like me, still love it and use it because it does a great job, there are some great tools to go with it, and we are used to it. I never really want to switch to Postfix, but I will have to eventually. In Plesk, Postfix is unfortunately the way of the future. I would expect to see Plesk qmail support removed completely before too long.

In fact I think there's some sort of official note on this somewhere on the Parallels product lifetime/EOL details page. One of the Lemonbit guys posted something about this a while ago, I think?

Yup, the scuttlebutt is that qmail is on the way out. All the fun stuff is going into postfix

Any painless way to move to postfix? Every time I do, I have delivery problems, sending problems, spam problems etc... never fails.

Switching from Qmail to Postfix (or the other way around) via the Plesk autoinstaller *never* failed for us.
