postfix

Unread post by nobody »

I use in my plesk Postfix mail server.
Plesk and postfix still has issues. Unresolved by plesk most of them.
Many people also prefer postfix instead of qmail.

It would be nice if asl also supported postfix.

I would like to hear your opinion on that.

Most distributions have postfix-2.5.6 since early this year. If not build from source. I even maintain a fc7 server for a friend and built it from F9 srpm.

Installed Packages

And I am really worried ...

You should be able to build this from source, or take fedora srpm from F9 and build it.

What are you worried about? Have you read about backporting?

Does Plesk need its own version of Postfix or does it use the stock version provided by the OS?

It seems to me that with postfix (unlike qmail) there would be no need to fiddle with the code to make it work nicely with Plesk.

There is no postfix package in the Plesk 9 distribution, so Plesk uses the package supplied by the OS.

I am familiar with backporting. But I have seen the official repo of centos not to update services that were exploited and I wonder if this version of postfix is secure by the means of have been patched.
