While they try to sell you support (where you basically pay them to do it), this looks like a better way to do PHP distribution. The product is free, btw. Support is what you pay for if you elect to do so.

sounds interesting - anyone know how their stack differs from the art packages or anyone else for that matter ?

From what I can gather, Core is simply a different distribution method. Their sales pitch is "Let us upgrade your PHP" and it's aimed at admins who don't have time for such things. Core , in theory, gets the latest compiles quickly. With ART, you get it whenever Scott gets around to it (not a knock on Scott, mind you, just a note).

have you tried it? Is it compliled with a high file descriptor support?
