Good Day,
Just installed OpenVAS 9 on RHEL 7.6 and get the following :
# openvasmd --create-user slave
openvasmd: symbol lookup error: /lib64/libopenvas_misc.so.9: undefined symbol: ssh_pki_key_ecdsa_name
When trying to start OpenVAS :
openvasmd[16543]: /usr/sbin/openvasmd: symbol lookup error: /lib64/libopenvas_misc.so.9: undefined symbol
I did do some hunting about and only found a response mentioning libssh being out of date, but that is from the OpenVAS repo ?
The file mentioned :
ls -al /lib64/libopenvas_misc.so.9
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 24 Mar 6 13:06 /lib64/libopenvas_misc.so.9 -> libopenvas_misc.so.9.0.1
yum provides "*libopenvas_misc.so.9.0.1"
openvas-libraries-9.0.1-2735.el7.art.x86_64 : Support libraries for Open Vulnerability Assessment (OpenVAS) Server
Repo : @atomic
Matched from:
Filename : /usr/lib64/libopenvas_misc.so.9.0.1

OpenVAS Library Error
Re: OpenVAS Library Error
Hello,
I think the problem is, that the OpenVAS libraries are updated to version 9.0.3. However, the atomic repo still provides v9.0.1. This is also a problem for me as every scan report has en entry with CVSS Score 10 which says "outdated scan engine".
Is there an estimated time, when the current openvas libraries will be available?
Regards,
Fabe
