PG Server Specs

Unread post by cmc »

I realize there is no one answer for everyone, but what are some recommended server specs for a PG mail server?

My current mail server hosts processes a couple hundred real messages and several thousand spam a day.

Thanks,
Cathy

The more CPU cache the better, I used a dual P3-800 with 2mb of cache per cpu for years as my most high volume system. It was processing over 100,000 messages a day, and the latency was rarely more than 20 seconds on each message.

Avoid celeron, or any other low cache CPU at all costs.

And yes, you can multiple domains on a PG box. There is no limit on the total number you can use.
