FC2 and Plesk 7.5.4 - where to update?

Unread post by manarak »

Hello

I am running the above. Since the ART updates are gone, I wonder how to update?
Where should I direct YUM to?

Side topic: is Plesk 8.1.0 safe?

FC2 was end of life'd back in October, so there arent any updates available for it any more. You can still get PSA for it up to 8.1, but I wouldnt recommend running on an unsupported OS. What you can do is back it up with the psa backup utils, reinstall the box with CentOS4 (check out the AOOI project: http://www.atomicrocketturtle.com/Jooml ... ew/139/29/, its an offline installer) and then restore it.

Is centOS4 expected to live longer than FC2, which was the recommended Fedora for Plesk just 18 months ago?

I am not feeling very comfortable with reinstalling... it was already a miracle that I got it right the first time with FC2...
On the other hand, I should definitely reinstall.

The best would be if I had a second box.
