centOs 5

I see that CentOS 5 is now released.

I need to reimage a 1and1 server, any ideas when you'll have to time to sort AOOI for CentOS 5 Scott, or should I go with 4.4 for now? I'd rather not have to reimage again in the near future ....

If you want to run Plesk: Plesk doesn't support RHEL/CentOS 5 yet. It'll probably be a few more months.

Is there an official response from Plesk regarding support for CentOS5, or is this just a guess from past releases?

Just based on how things have gone in the past. FC6 support was only added recently (with version 8.1.1) for instance.

Plesk will support CentOS 5 in version 9. SwSoft would like to be ready with it at the end of the year.

Thats excellent news, I'm really impressed by whats in C5. It does still need some work though, especially if you're on an x86_64 box. Some of the RPM's still need some integration work though. I've been running into problems with conflicts between the x86_64 and i386 packages in my build env.

Plesk 9 will also support the current Fedora, which based on the timetable may happen to be F8.

whats with centos 4.5?
i have now 4.4 installed. anyone runs plesk8 with centos4.5?

Sure. CentOS 4.5 is just CentOS 4.4 with all the updates applied. It's not a different OS. The naming is just a bit confusing, but CentOS x.y just corresponds with RHEL x with update y applied.

I probably dont need to say it, but ditto.

Ive done a bunch of installs on it over the last few days. Nothing weird to report, and on top of that I just cleaned up the 8.1 archive, and updated the atomic-psa rpm (in atomic-bleeding atm) to install 8.1 completely from yum. So no more need to resolve all the pieces on your own.

I run 8.1.1 on 4.5 (upgraded from 4.4 via yum) and have had no problems (other than a bizarre clock problem that self corrected)
