You can set lilo (and grub probably) to reboot on a failed kernel load. Its not the best way to resolve the problem without a serial console (since you still dont know what the hell went wrong). I made some progress on AOOI the other day as well. I should have it cleaned up more for the new 1and1 boxes

For what it's worth I'll be doing the FC5 -> FC6 upgrade this weekend probably. I'll let you know how it goes if anyone is interested.
