Is FC6 to F7 update with plesk 8.11 installed possible?

Unread post by aus-city »

Art,
As I am so happy with F7 and 4 machines updating from FC6 to F7 worked floorlessly, as the distro's are almost identical, would a DVD upgrade on a FC6 server with plesk 8.11 work?
My other concern if it did work, would plesk updates work as it wont find a F7 packages at plesk?
As you mirror the plesk packages, can you build F7 packages in the F7 repo at art for plesk 8.1?

Scott,

Having a look around there is already a problem with FC6, let alone F7 as I mentioned about plesk packages...

http://www.atomicorp.com/channels/plesk/8.1.1/fedora/

There are only 2,3,4 and 5

We need a 6 and 7 please.

But also can you let me know on the above post will it work?

Thanks Scott,

I will wait until the 7 repo is up, as no doubt it will want to look for plesk packages, against 7.

Any idea of a rough time frame, like days, weeks?

I will then try a test yum update by adding in the f7 rpm and see what it complains about.

But if you have a 7 repo online, that should hopefully stop a lot of complaining from yum.

For F7 I couldnt say, I'll mirror the PSA rpms out when they're available from sw-soft. (Right now they arent.) As for the [atomic] channel, Ive supported Fedora 7 since march.

Ive already done the groundwork for F8, so I'll support it the day the fedora-release package comes out.
