Problems installing the latest update of Plesk 8.2

Unread post by phorman »

I am currently using Plesk 8.1, with RHEL4. I am currently using apf firewall. I am trying to upgrade
plesk to a later version, and do not necessarily want psa's firewall. First I tried using the built-in
updater in Plesk, which resulted in the following errors:

Check package set before installation
Package mysql-4.1.20-1.RHEL4.1.i386 is within installation list
but newer package mysql-5.0.27-1.el4.art.i386 is already installed in system.
ERROR: You have a newer version of the mysql package installed on your system.
The installation will not continue.

It seems that you installed latest packages from your operating system vendor's
site.

This warning is correct because I used ART to install my current plesk version,
and to install PHP5 and MySQL 5. Sooo I then tried yum update. I do not have
sitebuilder installed, so I excluded sitebuilder*. When I run yum update/upgrade,
I now get the following error message:

*******************************************************
Error: Missing Dependency: psa-security = 8.1 is needed by package psa-vpn
Error: Missing Dependency: psa-security = 8.1 is needed by package psa-fileserver
Error: Missing Dependency: psa-security = 8.1 is needed by package psa-firewall

*******************************************************

I read on the Plesk website that you can find out the version of your current PSA-Security using: rpm -q --provides psa

This resulted in:

*******************************************************
config(psa) = 8.1.1
psa-security = 8.1
psa = 8.1.1-rhel4.build81070322.16

*******************************************************

I have tried excluding the psa-vpn, psa-fileserver, and psa-firewall, but still get the same result.

Here is a look at yum.conf

I hope I have provided enough information. Please help me figure out why it will not update my plesk.

Thank You,
Rick

looks like a bug in the autoupdater, you'll need to contact sw-soft.
