Upgrade FC5 to FC6 (PSA 8.1) with yum

Unread post by albans »

Hi,

I'm thinking of upgrading FC5 to FC6 (PSA 8.1 actually installed).
You guys have any recommandations? Is there an how-to?
I found an fc4 to fc5 how-to... Could I follow it replacing fc5 with fc6?

Thanks for your advice!

Why would you not just install F7, both FC5 and FC6 are EOL?

I would certainly not upgrade the OS through yum on a production Plesk server. I have upgraded my workstation from Fedora Core 1 to every next release using yum (which is an unsupported upgrade path by the way), which apart from some nags always worked in the end, but I wouldn't take the risk with Plesk in the mix and certainly not on a production server.

FC6 because it seems that there's still problem with FC7...
For sure I never did such an update on a production server. I used to get a new one with everything freshly set up and then migrate from the old one.
