up2date error - headers missing.

Unread post by phoenixX »

Trying to update so I can get PHP5 on my 8.3 server. However, I get the following message when I run up2date.

There was a fatal error communicating with the server. The message was:

An HTTP error occurred:
URL: http://www.atomicorp.com/channels/atomi ... eader.info
Status Code: 404
Error Message: Not Found

Looks like the header data is missing on that channel. I'll take a look at it.

Hi Scott,

The Fedora 8 one is broken as well as far as the normal asl-2.0 channel goes...

http://www.atomicorp.com/channels/asl-2.0/fedora/8/

Index of /8
Filename Last Modified Size
../ Mar 18 2008 13:21:55 4kb

There should at least be:
http://www.atomicorp.com/channels/asl-2 ... /repodata/
http://www.atomicorp.com/channels/asl-2 ... /repodata/

They are missing so I got 404 errors

http://www.atomicorp.com/channels/asl-2.0/fedora/8/ that is all there is everything is deleted or missing...

That is intentional. The previous Fedora 8 releases were just a symlink to the packages for Fedora 7. Fedora 8 and 9 native builds are available are undergoing QA in the asl-2.0-testing channel.

Ah okay :)

So as I am a full beta tester for ASL its then safe to disable the normal asl-2.0 repo and enable the asl-2.0-testing?

In other words all future proper F8 and F9 packages will be put into testing repo?

I want to avoid a situation that some packages get put into plain asl-2.0 and not testing first and hence don't see all the available updates...

Fedora 8 and 9 are incomplete for now, so you'd have to exclude any channel(s) giving you an error.
