Hi!
I try to install clamAV on a Fedora 4 Plesk 8.
I removed DrWeb.
I executed the atomic.sh for to configure yum and then i did an install of clamd :
Code: Select all
# yum install clamd
Setting up Install Process
Setting up repositories
Reading repository metadata in from local files
Parsing package install arguments
No Match for argument: clamd
Nothing to do
???
I can install clamAV and do a scan but not the deamon. I read that there was some change on Clam rpm.
Can somebody help me please?
Thks

It seems there are no ClamAV packages in the atomic yum channel for Fedora Core 4.

???
Code: Select all
# yum search clamav
Searching Packages:
Setting up repositories
Reading repository metadata in from local files
clamav.i386 0.88.7-1.fc4 extras
Matched from:
clamav
http://www.clamav.net
[ ... ... ... ]
There is clamAV but not clamD?!?

Those are old packages from Fedora Extras. Fedora Extras doesn't have a separate clamd package (it's all in clamav).
You could try and rebuild the clamav 0.93 source rpm from ART on FC4, but maybe there is a reason it's not available in the FC4 atomic channel (wouldn't build maybe) and maybe Scott knows more about this.
You are aware that Fedora Core 4 reached end of life at the end of 2006?

Thats correct, as of clamav 0.91, it can no longer be built natively on FC4. You can use the version from centos 4 in a pinch, otherwise I would highly recommend upgrading or migrating to something that is still maintained.

Yes I'm aware
It's coz we use an old personnal application who not support more than Fedo 4... we have no money for the moment for to replace this application but it's not the problem now.
I have a question : 3 weeks ago, I installed clamAV from Atomic and all was perfect. The old rpm is really really really not available?
It was a mistake from me to not save the installed rpm
A rope for to hang me or a rpm, this is my new deal... (need some vacation... lol...)
