Reading down the page I noticed under point 5. What's New:

3. Postfix Support - Postfix mail server is finally available to all Plesk for Unix/Linux users. The long-awaited support of immensely popular alternative to Qmail allows Plesk administrators to improve the stability, security and performance of all mail-related tasks. Switching from Qmail to Postfix is quick, effortless and transparent both to Plesk administrator and end-users.

Then spotted under point 7. Known Problems and Limitations:

Postfix Mail Server functionality is not available in Plesk 9 Beta.

Go figure...

Yeah, missed that. There was also another thread talking about it in Sept. that mentioned the same thing. Looks like I need to read before posting!

Still, it is rather strange that they wouldn't include it in a beta release. That seems fairly important to test, and it makes me feel like it won't be ready for prime time until v. 10 at the earliest. Here's to hoping it isn't horribly broken like the DomainKeys implementation is.

Yeah Scott, I noticed that they are going to implement webmail via horde or @mail.

Hopefully that will be server side, as I'm getting mighty fed-up with horde. There was a user on the Plesk forums that was designing a skin system for horde within plesk.

Thinking of chucking together a spare box as I have enough parts kicking about the office for god knows how many systems, and loading it on or a giggle.

Is there any idea of a release date?

How would it not be server side? Are you afraid your clients will need to install a web server and webmail client on their own machines?

I was under the impression that @mail runs a webmail service.

Also I didn't know there was an open source version of @mail. Not a simple thing to find on there main website. Funny that.

I played with the fcgi stuff too, I can confirm that it works as advertised. I'm not sure about using it on a system with a lot of domains though. Or at least if you do make sure you've got a lot of ram for it.

They have both a hosted service and software you can run yourself. I don't believe there is an open source version of @mail, but there are more Plesk components that aren't open source (including Plesk itself).

Yeah there is an open-source @mail, you can find it at atmail.org

According to an old post on the plesk forums, the scheduled release period is 4th quarter or 2008, so hopefully it won't be long.

Is there going to be ART support for Plesk 9 scott and when it's formaly released will it be added to your yum channel for install?
