Plesk 9.0 + ART php-cli = crash and burn during install

Let's just assume that I've read all the threads here regarding a .0 release from Parallels and that's why I've decided to install it, and it's not because it's new and shiny and has Postfix (thank god).

When I go through the install process, it says that the php-cli package from the ART repo has to be uninstalled. For S&Gs I ran the uninstall and it said that I'd have to remove 122 packages. After the laughter subsided, I realized I have *no* idea how to proceed. Could anyone here shed some light on this, so that when they do decide to put out the next release, I'm good to go?

Thanks!

Have you tried a manual uninstall? This might break something but it might do the trick as well.

Code: Select all

#rpm -e php-cli

Did you think we were kidding when we said not to upgrade yet? :P

Those of us on the plesk irc channel (irc.freenode.net, ##plesk) have been tracking 9.0 bugs (and some fixes) here:

Tried that, but it says I need to yank the main php package as well.

Yup, listen to the man. God knows the lengthy thread we had going a few weeks back.

You must have noticed the jump from plesk 9.0 to 9.0.0.2 already. My guessing is wait till after the summit in 2009. I'm thinking that most bugs should be hammered out by then.
